Fridge
So after briefly considering buying a new fridge (which is expensive and
gave me a new appreciation of the features, that I never realised were
features, of our fridge) we phoned the fridge repair people who seemed to
know exactly what was wrong and came round to fix at a much reduced cost
from new fridge (yay).

Also the fridge people came to the house, so no fridge moving required.
However they had to empty out the fridge part so they could work.
Embarrassing realisation that I am one of those people that has a large
selection of condiments in my fridge (and not much else)

As far as the freezer went, it stayed mostly frozen, although there was one
smoked gammon that had started to defrost...
